Aban Zirikly is from Damascus, Syria. He arrived in Maine just over two years ago to be closer to his daughter and extended family. At the age of ten Aban began to study violin. He continued his studies in Moscow and then eventually emerged as a world class musician (after a ten year interlude of being a practicing civil engineer). Aban Zirikly has given solo, chamber and orchestra performances throughout Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Aban believes that music is the expression of the deepest source of life in us, even before language.
