![]() Michel Kanyambo is a lawyer and judge who grew up in a small village in Rwanda, "The Land of a Thousand Hills." He arrived in Maine in 2010 and began volunteering as a mentor at Catholic Charities in Portland which led to work as a translator and now he works as the Legal Assistant and Specialist for the Affidavit of Relation (AOR) Program and the Central American Minors (CAM) Program. ![]() Edward Laboke is an educator, translator and cultural broker, originally from South Sudan. He moved here with his family in 2001 after being refugees in Egypt for more than a year. He is now a leader in Portland and came on the show to highlight all that is happening to celebrate World Refugee Day in Maine this year. All are invited to a free kick-off event in Deering Oaks Park from 3 - 6 PM on Saturday, June 13th.
