Manasi was raised in Mumbai, India (formerly Bombay) until the age of 6 when her father's job took the family to Singapore where the children would have better educational opportunities. She left the small island for Purdue University in Indiana at the age of 18, wanting to study aerospace. Manasi came to Maine to be near the coast. She works as an electrical engineer and talks about women in engineering. Abhay Singh was born and raised in a large extended family in central India. He came to the US as an adult and completed his medical residency. He is currently a practicing physician at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, ME. Abhay has a passion for soccer and organized a co-ed soccer team called The Saints. On that team there are people from a number of countries, speaking many different languages, but all playing soccer with a joyful love of the team and the game. Ali Al Mshakheel is an accomplished international journalist from Iraq. He has been a news producer and reporter for ABC's Baghdad Bureau and most recently the Public Information Officer for the United Nations. He arrived in Portland, ME with his wife and three young children in late March, 2014. Musical interludes are by Oud player, Naseer Shamma.
