Sofia Aldinio was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She left home at twenty-three and traveled and lived around the world (Costa Rica, Mexico, New Zealand, and parts of Asia). She is a photographer and documentary filmmaker who has been working and living in South Portland with her husband and young son since 2014.
"Carried From Home" is the name of the photo essay project that Sofia and her writing partner Emily Wedick are creating to be a traveling exhibit. They hope to invite conversation about immigration throughout the state of Maine.
